Instructor

Hi! My name is April Keelin. I have been in love with music since I was a little girl. At 7 years old, I started piano lessons, and when I was in 5th grade, I started playing the flute. I had continued those all through college. In high school, I became really interested in vocal music. I was in many choirs and decided to also take vocal lessons. In college, I was a vocal music education major with a piano minor and graduated in 1993. I started teaching music in the public school system in the fall of 1995. I went on to get my Masters degree in Music Education in 1999. After many years, I decided to continue my education and get my National Boards in Early Childhood Music in 2020.

Other endeavors include leading worship in Grayson, Kentucky; piano, flute and keyboard player at a church in Ashland, KY, giving piano lessons; and teaching Kindermusik for a couple of years in the Ashland, KY area before getting my National Boards. Music is my passion and has been my life’s work.

My other passion is my family. I have been married to Todd for almost 19 years. I have 3 children: Morgan, Kylie and Caleb (Savannah). And now, I have a beautiful granddaughter, Chandler, who just turned one. Besides music, they are my world.
